David Tennant is back with a new project!!

DAVID TENNANT is coming home to Scotland to star in a major new drama for BBC 1.

The Doctor Who heart throb will play a bereaved dad struggling to raise four kids in four-part drama Single Father.

Bosses at BBC Scotland are thrilled David has signed up for the role - his first big British project since his five-year reign as the Doctor ended.

He's just the latest big name to work at the Beeb's Glasgow HQ, after James Nesbitt, Kevin McKidd, Minnie Driver, Alex Kingston and ER hunk Goran Visjnic.

Bathgate-born Tennant, 38, said: "I feel very lucky to have been sent this script. I was desperate to be part of this project."

It's five years since David acted in Scotland, when he starred in Look Back In Anger at Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum theatre.

His last TV acting job in his homeland was A Mug's Game - the story of life in a fishing village - back in 1996.

The Single Father project will reunite David with the Red Production Company, who made his BBC drama Casanova in 2005.

He said: "That makes me very happy indeed."

The four-part drama, set in Glasgow, is written by Mick Ford, who also worked on Ashes To Ashes.

David's character is left to cope with four kids after the death of his wife.

Then he falls in love with his wife's best friend.

The BBC's head of drama in Scotland, Anne Mensah, said: "David is an amazing actor and perfect for the role."

-----

Ooh, sounds fantastic! The bit in which he falls in love with his wife's best friend... That reminds me of Blackpool! Although... Ripley wasn't his best friend, but his worst enemy. Nevertheless, I'm really, really looking forward to 'Single Father'.

April 3 is D Day - 'D' for Doctor Who!

After waiting several months for the news, fans of the British sci-fi show Doctor Who have finally gotten news of a premiere date for the show's fifth series. That premiere date is April 3, Easter Saturday, as had been previously speculated by fans. This premiere date, of course, applies to the United Kingdom only; American audiences will likely have to wait a few days – or even weeks – until the premiere, "The Eleventh Hour," airs on BBCAmerica (of course, knowing the ingenious fans of Doctor Who, there's no doubt that many will find a way to watch the episode long before). The current US premiere date is unknown, but it will likely not premiere the day after the UK airing, as both parts of "The End of Time," did, though hopefully the gap will be shorter than the monthlong wait between airings of "The Waters of Mars."

The new series, which will mark the beginning of Matt Smith's tenure as the Doctor (not counting his brief appearance at the end of "The End of Time," when David Tennant's Doctor regenerated into Smith), has been heavily anticipated by the fanbase of this show. Already, a new promotional photo of the Doctor and new companion Amy Pond (played by Karen Gillan) has surfaced, as well as a promotional trailer for the fifth series, which will be shown in 3D in front of British screenings of the Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland. A new iteration of the trailer, different from the one that premiered yesterday, aired on BBC One today, which revealed the date. The tail end of the trailer with the date is posted below, thanks to Paul Kerton.

DOCTOR WHO SERIES 5 AIRS APRIL 3RD. DO NOT MISS IT! FIRST EPISODE: 'THE ELEVENTH HOUR'.

James Corden in Doctor Who?

A show insider is quoted as saying: "We normally keep our guest stars under wraps but you can't hide a bloke like James.

"And now he's not coming to Wales for Gavin & Stacey anymore, it's pretty obvious why he is here. James loves coming to Wales. And it gives him a chance to meet up with Ruth Jones, who co-wrote Gavin and Stacey with him and starred as Nessa."

The source added: "We're just delighted to have James on board. He is a great actor and he'll be a perfect fit for the new Doctor Who."
Digital Spy

I don't know what to believe, to be honest. I think it is better if we wait and see if it is official...
What do you think of James? I don't mind him, but it's not like I actually like him. As in liking Matt, for example. I am, however, curious... I want to know if it is true... and if it is... What character will he be playing??

New Trailer Revealed!

Oh, I'm really looking forward to this. I didn't like the trailer that much, though, but I am GLAD DW is returning during Easter Time! I'm really looking forward to the announcement of the actual date. Ohhh, it's going to be legendary! And a new journey will being... Bring on 2010 and the Eleventh Doctor! :D

#1 Doctor Who/David Tennant Caption

The rules are extremely simple. All you have to do is post a caption to the pictures below. You don't have to do both, but if you want to, go ahead. :) Given this is a Doctor Who/David Tennant blog, I'll make sure I post two pictures that satisfy Who only fans and Tennant only fans. Obviously, if the pictures is David as the Tenth Doctor, it will please both sides.

--> So, to do so, comment on this post. See, ain't that simple?

Alright, shall we start?
Good luck!

The best captions will deserve a special mention.

New Doctor, New Wallpaper!

Yep, it's true and I'm really excited about this. The official Doctor Who website has published a new image of our own Eleventh Doctor and his sidekick Amy. You can download the wallpaper there or you can save it from here! :) Either way will do.
Anyway, don't forget you can watch the new trailer on Saturday, early evening, on bbc.co.uk/doctorwho.

Excited? It IS the trip of a lifetime...

Checkm8 Productions: Interview Coming Soon!

Soon, an interview with the lads from Checkm8 productions will be published right here. If you are a checkm8 productions fan, keep your eyes peeled for that. :)
I'll treat you with some of the questions awaiting to be answered:

When did you decide to start your own series? What and who was the driving force behind it?

How do you come up with such creative customes and props?

How do you like your series so far? Is it what you had planned at first?

... and a lot, lot more.

Here I leave you some links to their YouTube channel, Facebook page and website.

Reviewing Checkm8 Productions: Overall Opinion

If you've been following me on Twitter and/or YouTube, you'll know that I'm a sucker for Who Fan Series. When I first joined YouTube, I was constantly watching Tony and Tom (aka timelordfromhell and themastercrevasse)'s hilarious spoofs.
For some odd reason, one day I decided to search for some more; not that I was fed up with the two lads! Much to my delight, I was faced with a new channel and the promise of a new fan series, 'Doctor Who: After Death', by Checkm8 productions. If you don't know them, go check them out, I'm sure you'll love their work. www.youtube.com/checkm8productions
Nick, Daniel and Ricky are creative lads with a very bright future when it comes to fan series. Nicholas Gott, the actor who plays the Doctor, is witty and the head of the creative department: a truly gifted craftsman, Nick is able to wow us all with his fabulous props and outstandingly perfect drawings. Most of the designs, if not all of them, were designed and made by this talented young man. He is superb as the Doctor, bringing to our computer monitors a darker and slightly wittier Doctor than the ones we have been used to. In fact, Nick himself admits that he is a great fan of the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, and that shows in his acting. I believe comparing such a young man to the brilliant actor that is Tennant is saying a lot, but Nicholas certainly has a bright future ahead of him.
Danni Matsell stars in the fan series as Ruby Howard, the Doctor's companion. Ruby reminds me of Donna at times: she gets quite scared when faced with aliens and has funny reactions to the Doctor's lifestyle, a bit like Donna did. Danni is at her best in frightening and intriguing scenes, such as the ones in which she questions the Doctor about who he is.
Daniel Mackrell is the editor-in-chief, so to speak: the editing is, after the acting and props, my favourite aspect to the show. The fact that it is very creative and even professional, dare I say it, is a good asset to the episodes. Ricky Crompton, last but definitely not least, is one of the directors, together with his two mates.
The scripts, a Gott/Mackrell collaboration, are witty and far more inventive than some of the fan series I've been following so far. The planets, the aliens, everything seems to struck a perfect code. Together with brilliantly put together Doctor Who music, the whole episodes have a twang of Old Who to them... which, in my opinion, is absolutely brilliant. It's Doctor Who minus the budget, that's all. In a nutshell, I could say it was perfect.

Vote for David as Hello's Most Attractive Man!

We all know there's no competition there. :D David is the sexiest!

#6 Remembering Past Who Episodes - Children in Need 2005

Aww... it's so cute watching this all over again! :) And sad at the same time...

Daniel Radcliffe talks about David Tennant (2005)

" I'll tell you what - I wish there was more of David Tennant in Goblet of Fire. He plays Barty Crouch Jnr. He's only got a few scenes and he's brilliant in all of them. He so absolutely, fantastically watchable. I think he'll be a good Doctor Who. I'll tell you the truth, I only saw the first episode. I thought Chris Eccleston was great, actually. Very, very good. I don't watch a lot of TV. I just watch The Simpsons and that's about it. But I did see David Tennant in Casanova. He's absolutely fantastic in it. I would love to work with him again. He's also the nicest person."

From SFX Magazine 2005 (October issue, I believe).

Doctor Who Props and Costumes Up For Auction

A selection of props and costumes from BBC One's Doctor Who are to go under the hammer in London later this month.

Fans can snap up their own Cyberman, Dalek or Sea Devil at the auction, as well as costumes worn by the 10th Doctor himself, David Tennant.

Other highlights of the sale include Kylie Minogue's waitress costume she wore in a 2007 Christmas special, which is expected to fetch up to £3,000.

The auction will take place at Bonhams on 24 February.

From the same Christmas special, Tennant's two-piece Paul Smith dinner suit is also up for grabs valued at around £3,000.

A jacket worn by Billie Piper's character Rose Tyler is expected to raise up to £700 while a pair of her pyjamas and dressing gown could fetch £250.

Two Imperial Daleks costumes from Sylvester McCoy's tenure as the Doctor in 1988 are also in the sale.

One, altered for exhibition purposes, is hoped to fetch £3,500, while the other could raise up to £7,000.

There is also a selection of vehicles in the auction - including Captain Jack's Torchwood Range Rover and a black cab from The Runaway Bride episode starring Catherine Tate, aired in 2006.

I've been trying to find some pictures of the costumes up for auction, and so far I've only managed to find a Sea Devil one.

Doctor Who and Politics

There has been a lot of talking about David Tennant and his 'embracing' Politics. A lot has been said and written, but honestly... I don't get what the big deal is. I'm not even going to write which political party he supports: if you are interested, it is all over the Internet, I'm afraid.
I believe it is important to be up-to-date with whatever's happening at the moment in your country, but it is exactly this type of needless news and gossip that I'm more than willing to live without. So what that he made his thoughts on politics public? That only shows he knows the country he lives in and is well informed. Everybody should be, really. The Government is run by politicians, but it is our vote that counts. Or, at least, it should be that way in every country.

Season 5 Episode Titles... according to Wikipedia

I have to hand it to you guys... I don't trust Wikipedia at all when it comes to episode titles and such. The mere fact that it is updated by anybody who surfs the Internet it enough to keep me away from it, but given the fact that some of the episode titles might be wrong according to other sources... bleh. I had to swallow my pride and search for them there. If most of them turn out to be right, great, I'll go to Wiki more often. If not, I'll stand my ground. I believe that, this time, it is accurate. Hopefully, it is: I bear no grudge against Wikipedia. I just don't want to publish wrong information, but as you already know... I may have, regarding other sources.
Anyway, bear in mind that these are all subject to change.

Nina Wadia to appear alonside Matt Smith in the forthcoming series of Doctor Who

The 41-year-old will be seen as an evil psychiatric episode alongside new Doctor Matt Smith when the show returns in the spring.
Wadia told The Sun: "It was brilliant to be let out for a couple of days to do something else and it was great working with Matt Smith. (...) I play a bit of a baddie. And yes, like my EastEnders character Zainab, she's not a very pleasant woman - but at least I'm human and not some kind of strange alien life-form."

Psychiatric? Whatever do they mean? Now I'm curious...

WHO Action Figures

Yeah, yeah, it's official. Some of you already know it, but I've ordered those 'End of Time' action figures. All of them. Yeepee! I'm so happy. They sure do look fantastic. I can't wait to add them to my collection! Anyway, I want to upload a couple of review videos from YouTube. I'm just awaiting approval to do so. Until then... you can enjoy yourself looking at the pictures of the actual characters and their respective action figures.

Are the Silurians back??

We've waited 26 years for this. Finally, the Silurian lizard creatures are being brought back to Doctor Who, reveals the Sun. Last time we saw them, the brown lizard monsters were trying to destroy humanity with our own nuclear missiles in 1984 – but now they're back after a few years "lying undisturbed under the Earth". No word on whether they erupt through the Blue Peter garden.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/mediamonkeyblog/2010/feb/12/silurian-doctor-who-return

What do you think, guys? Are we ready for a Silurian comeback? I, for one, am truly excited. I loved the Silurians in both Pertwee and Davison eras, respectively. The episode were really good, and all the plot about taking over Planet Earth and the Master's having something to do with it... Aw, that was the life.

Who's your WHO Valentine?

Okay guys, so here's the deal. In order to vote for your WHO Valentine, you must comment. Just mention the character or the name of the actor/actress, it's totally up to you. :) Anyone can comment!
*You don't have to pick one of the Doctors. You can choose any other character.*

GOOD LUCK!
--> I shall announce the winner on Twitter, so keep your eyes peeled for that! :)

A Love Letter to Doctor Who

I'll just be posting the images, I believe they speak for themselves. How cool is that? I'm not a fan of needles or tattoos, but I've got to hand it to you... A TARDIS on your back... That's the epitome of Whovianess.

Down from Heaven comes ELEVEN
and there’s HELL to pay below
shout “GERONIMO!” “GERONIMO!”

It’s a gory road to glory
but we’re ready here we go
shout “GERONIMO!” “GERONIMO!”

Have you seen the new DW action figures?

Yeah, yeah, it's true. I'm almost 18 and I collect DW action figures. I don't play with them, if that's what you're thinking! Anyway, I'm building a collection. I shall post a picture of my figures... someday. Eventually. More to the point, there are some NEW DW figures, and I'm very excited about it.

I know there's a pack with Rassilon and all, which is very cool. Also, I've seen a review of an injured Tenth Doctor :D. And here you have some good news: they're changed the Tenth Doctor's hair! Finally! They've been using the same layout over and over again. Now the hair is just spot on. And the bruises... oh, brilliant! There's an Eleventh Doctor figure as well. I haven't seen it properly, though, but it looks really neat.

Do you have 'em? How are they? Please do comment!

I'm Baaaaack! (rant about Who haters)

Yeah, it has been a long, long time. I'm so sorry, I've been really busy. :/
Anyway, I need to rant a bit. I was on YT and went to this channel in which two people were constantly dissing DT and DW. What the deuce? What is wrong with some people? I don't like certain things, but I respect people who do. And that's the end of it. That got me really angry, specially as I'm rather down because of work and all that. I don't need this. Not now. So here's a warning: Don't like DW or DT? Well, do us a favour: keep it to yourself. Or, at least, don't throw it in Whovians' faces. Respect us, as we will do the same.
