Another one of David's new projects!: Fright Night

DAVID TENNANT has swapped aliens for vampires and landed his first major Hollywood role.

The former Doctor Who will play Peter Vincent, a gory Las Vegas magician and vampire expert in horror remake Fright Night.

And he will be joined by CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE, better known as Kick-Ass's Red Mist.

ANTON YELCHIN stars as a teenager who suspects his next door neighbour, played by COLIN FARRELL, of being a vampire.

He turns to the Tennant's magician for assistance but he is far from helpful.

Christopher will play the teenager's best pal, Evil Ed, who joins the vampire cult after the pair fall out.

The character of Peter Vincent was played as a late-night TV host by RODDY McDOWELL in the cult 1985 movie.

In January, David dropped out of SIMON PEGG'S horror movie Burke and Hare.
